If you intend on using the texting features with uTRAC, you will need to ensure that your uTRAC account has been connected with an API enabled SMS service.
uTRAC Currently Supports Sendmode and Twilio, two 3rd party texting services:
Setting Up Sendmode
Visit Sendmode.com (or sendmode.co.uk) and sign up for free.
In uTRAC, go to the SMS Settings area in the Admin page, then select Sendmode as your SMS provider*.
Enter your sendmode username and password and click save.
Input a number into the Account Info / From field if you wish replies to sent messages to return to a specific number by default. Alternatively enter your company name into the Account Info / From field to send noreply texts.
If a user sending an SMS has a mobile saved against their profile via the Admin > Users page, then replies to messages will return to their set number (carrier support varies for this feature).
Setting Up Twilio
Visit Twilio.com and sign up for a free account.
Once set up, purchase a sms enabled phone number. This is similar to line rental with a very small monthly subscription fee.
In uTRAC, go to the SMS Settings area in the Admin Page then copy the account sid, auth code and phone number into the relevant fields then save.
For information on how to manage replies in Twilio please see this article.
Please contact the support team (support@utraconline.com) for more information on how to enable sms texting for your organization.
